Agate is a type of quartz. It has many different colors and can be found in large rocks such as boulders. This stone will take 50 million years to create. Agate will distinguish by colored band patterns various rocks. Agate stone is under the category of Quartz with the Silica formula. The colors of this stone are White to grey, light blue, orange to red and black.

this stone is known as Aqeeq and agate in Turkish. It is widely used in ring set with a chalcedony stone. An aqeeq rings also has religious features in Islam and it is considered to wear one.

Its name comes from the Achetes River in Sicily, where Agates stone were first found. Often banded in layers, or stripes, some types have “eye” markings, or specks of color, some have fossilized inclusions, and others are solid. Called the earth rainbow, the concentric bands of Agate form in nearly every color the earth can produce, including a colorless form.
