Abyaneh Travertine Stone

Abyaneh Travertine Stone

The Abyaneh travertine quarries are located in Isfahan Province, near Natanz, in the village of Komjan along the Abyaneh route. The proximity of the Abyaneh travertine quarries to the beautiful and historic village of Abyaneh led to the selection of the name Abyaneh travertine. Isfahan is a major hub for stone processing and extraction in Iran.

The color of Abyaneh travertine stone is white and light cream, which is processed in both vein-cut (wavy) and cross-cut (wave-free) patterns, with each of these two styles having its own unique beauty. Most travertine stones feature veins; to obtain a vein-cut product, cutting is performed perpendicular to the veins, while to obtain a wave-free product, cutting is done along the direction of the stone's veins, also referred to as cross-cut.

Applications of Abyaneh Travertine

Wave-free Abyaneh features faint, cloud-like halos whose application makes the environment look more aesthetically pleasing. The background color of the travertine stone becomes lighter after installation in an environment over time.

Light cream Abyaneh travertine has extensive applications in all parts of a building, including the building facade and interior walls. The combination of colored and contrasting stones with this travertine in the building facade enhances the prominence and beauty of this stone.

In the processing of Abyaneh travertine, matching-color mastic is used to fill the pores on the top surface. White and light cream travertines are among the most widely used travertines due to their special color and pattern, with their primary application being in the interior and exterior walls of buildings.

Disadvantages of Abyaneh Stone

Among the disadvantages of Abyaneh stone is its high water absorption rate. Another drawback of Abyaneh stone is its numerous pores, which result in high porosity.
